On Friday, February 24, the US Treasury Department announced that it had imposed "one of the most significant sanctions" to crack down on those helping Moscow in its war against Ukraine.

This is reported by CNN.

Enterprises of the Russian metallurgical and mining sector, financial institutions of the Russian Federation, as well as individuals and companies around the world that help Moscow avoid current sanctions, "including arms trade and illegal financing" have been hit by American sanctions.

Sanctions of the US Treasury Department were applied in coordination with the Big Seven (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Great Britain and the USA) to 22 individuals and 83 organizations.

In addition, a number of export control actions have been applied to almost 90 Russian and third-country companies, including China.

We will remind, on the anniversary of the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, Great Britain introduced sanctions against 92 individuals and legal entities of Russia, in particular those related to Rosatom.

Putin's close allies, including the former head of the Security Service and the general director of Nord Stream 2, were also sanctioned.

New Zealand also applied more sanctions against the aggressor state.

Earlier, on Wednesday, February 22, EU ambassadors discussed the 10th package of sanctions against Russia, but could not reach a single consensus on the coordination of sanctions against the aggressor country.
