Economic losses in the regions of Turkey and Syria affected by the devastating

earthquake

may exceed 4 billion dollars.

This was reported by the international rating agency Fitch.

"Economic losses are difficult to estimate as the situation develops, but they are likely to exceed two billion dollars and may reach four billion dollars or more," Fitch said.

At the same time, the value of the insured losses is estimated at 1 billion, which indicates the low insurance coverage of the regions where the epicenter of the earthquake fell.

The main part of the payments will fall to global reinsurers.

We will remind you that on February 6, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 occurred in Turkey, the strongest in the country this century.
