Vilnius

In Vilnius, the price of an apartment depends on the location, the age of the house and the type of heating (central/private).

For example, a "Khrushchevka" in Nowyamesti (Novaye Mesto, a district near the center) in 1962 costs 87,000 euros.

In the Makotow district of Warsaw (not far from the center), an apartment in a house built in 1964 with good repairs, furniture and appliances costs 125,000 euros.

Housing of the elite class will be more expensive.

Riga

A two-room apartment in good repair, but without furniture and not very close to the center in Riga, costs 63,500 euros.

"It's easier to pay the mortgage than the rent"

He took out a mortgage from a Lithuanian bank and now pays 550 euros per month, but this amount varies depending on the mortgage rate.

"I decided that it was easier to pay the mortgage than the rent, throwing the money away.

I was looking for an apartment through a website where notices from developers are posted.

I imagined where I wanted an apartment, so I found it quickly - somewhere within a week.

A mortgage for Belarusians in Lithuania assumes that you have 30% of your money for housing, 70% is provided by the bank," he says.

The apartment cost 140,000 euros, it is a two-room apartment: bedroom, living room, kitchen, unfurnished.

The apartment is relatively close to the center.

"The longest was the application review procedure by the bank, it can take a month.

I took out a mortgage for 25 years, there is a function of early repayment without any penalties," says Oleg.

The conditions under which EU banks agree to issue mortgage loans to citizens of Belarus are approximately the same throughout the EU.

As a rule, this is the presence of a permanent residence permit, a permanent job with at least an average salary and a relatively large down payment.
