Mexican officials have revealed that Tesla is considering building a factory near Mexico's new airport.

[Financial Channel/Comprehensive Report] Mexican presidential spokesman Jesus Ramirez (Jesus Ramirez) said that electric vehicle leader Tesla (Tesla) is considering building an assembly plant near the new Mexican airport as the company's export center.

Reuters reported that Tesla could set up a factory in a developing industrial park about 3 kilometers from Felipe Angeles International Airport (Felipe Angeles International Airport), which is Mexican President Lopez Obrador. Manuel Lopez Obrador promoted the new hub last year.

Ramirez noted that Tesla is considering investing in the park to use the Felipe Angeles International Airport, noting that the airport could serve as a base for Tesla to export by air.

Ramirez did not disclose further details.

But before making the aforementioned remarks, Ramirez mentioned Tesla’s investment prospects in Mexico to the local media El Heraldo de Mexico, saying that Tesla will invest in an assembly plant there, Export directly by air.

Another Mexican official said Tesla had visited the site, but did not disclose plans to do so.

Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk is said to have been eyeing potential investments in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, which is linked to the U.S. state of Texas.
