A memorandum was signed between the Energy Company of Ukraine (EKU) and the Turkish company Karpowership on the use of floating thermal power plants that can meet the needs of a million households in Ukraine.

One vessel can generate 500 MW of electricity.

The corresponding press release is published on the website of PR Newswire.

One of the main options is the placement of power plant ships in the ports of Moldova and Romania and the supply of electricity to the Ukrainian grid through these countries.

Karpowership and ECU will hold negotiations with the authorities of Romania and Moldova regarding the implementation of this decision.

According to Vitaly Butenko, General Director of ECU, in the conditions of war, it is impossible to build new power units instead of destroyed and damaged ones.

Therefore, the state is forced to look for innovative solutions to overcome the energy crisis.

Karpowership has a fleet of 36 floating power plants that can be connected to the grid in less than 30 days.

"We are ready to support Ukraine so that it gets the energy it needs as soon as possible," assured Karpowership commercial director Zeynep Kharezi.

We will remind, earlier the representative of the Karpowership company, Zeynep Garezi, said that negotiations are underway to send floating "powerful ships" to Ukraine for the supply of electricity.

Three such vessels can provide electricity to 1 million subscribers.
