[Reporter Chen Meiying/Taipei Report] In 2023, the global political and economic environment will still be engulfed in the shadow of the Russia-Ukraine War and high inflation. The weak economy will inevitably have an impact on TV sales that are only supported by the consumer market.

TrendForce estimates that global TV panel shipments will drop by 2.8% annually in 2023, falling to 264 million units.

As Samsung and LGD Korean factories close down their LCD production lines one after another, the LCD market share of Korean factories will drop to single digits, and the market share of Chinese and Taiwanese panel makers is expected to grow.

TrendFoce pointed out that in 2023, OLED and LCD TV panels will show two different situations.

In terms of OLED, after Korean panel manufacturers fade out of the LCD market in 2022, they will focus on OLED, and more products will come out one after another. The diversification of products will help the shipments to a certain extent.
