Turkey made record exports to Bulgaria last year, according to data from the Association of Turkish Exporters (TIM), cited by the Anatolian Agency, BTA reported.

According to the information, Turkey's exports to Bulgaria reached a record level of 4.42 billion dollars last year.

Exports to Bulgaria increased by 21.4 percent in 2022 compared to 2021, and its share in Turkey's total exports was 1.7 percent.

Bulgaria is in 13th place among the countries to which Turkey exported the most goods last year.

At the head of this export is industry, with the sector that exports the most to Bulgaria being that of chemicals and chemical products with $731.99 million.

This sector is followed by iron and non-ferrous metals exported to Bulgaria worth 624.566 million dollars, steel - 604.982 million dollars and electricity and electronics - 403.157 million dollars.

The sectors with the smallest exports to Bulgaria are tobacco - 919 thousand dollars and decorative plants and products - 2.357 million dollars.

At the same time, Bulgaria is in second place among the countries of the Balkans, to which Turkey exports the most.

Romania ranks first, having imported goods worth 6.317 billion dollars from Turkey.
