After the New Year's holidays, onion prices in Ukraine crept up.

This is reported by analysts of the EastFruit project.

It is noted that the reason for the price increase is the increase in demand for onions from wholesale companies and retail chains.

Thus, since the beginning of 2023, onions on the Ukrainian market have risen in price by an average of 12%, and currently most farmers are ready to ship them no cheaper than 25-28 UAH/kg.

Thus, as a result of another price increase, onions in Ukraine are already 3.4 times more expensive on average than in the same period of 2022.

At the same time, agrarians are confident in the further growth of prices for it, since stocks of high-quality onions in farms are limited.

We will remind, earlier Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotskyi said that the

cost of products may increase

in Ukraine .

The reasons for the price increase will be power outages and the use of generators by manufacturers.

According to him, the price increase is possible by 3-5%.
