Wall Street's main indexes opened today's trading session in the red after data released today confirmed that the country's labor market remained strong, which in turn increased fears that the Federal Reserve Board will continue to raise interest rates, Reuters reported.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell 78.05 points, or 0.23 percent, to 33,191.72.

The broader Standard & Poor's 500 lost 13.23 points, or 0.34 percent, to 3,839.75.

The high-tech Nasdaq was down 68.45 points, or 0.65 percent, at 10,390.31.
