In total, dealers of the Belarusian Automobile Association sold 17,234 cars last year, including 14,843 passenger cars, the organization reported.
Thus, according to the results of the year, car sales decreased by 2.7 times, as in 2021, 46,837,000 new cars were sold in Belarus.
BAA noted that sales of passenger cars in December increased by 82% compared to November, up to 1,683 cars.
At the same time, the sales volume was still 62% lower than last year's figure.
According to the results of 2022, Geely became the market leader with 4355 cars sold.
In second place is Lada — 3,782 cars, KIA — 1,462 cars.
"In 2022, taking into account the departure of the world's leading brands from the Russian market and the freezing of the production of popular models that are assembled in Russia, Belarusian dealers resolved the issue of forming a new model line and redirecting supplies.
This process will continue in 2023, and the results of each of the brands represented in Belarus will largely depend on how quickly and painlessly representatives of the Belarusian auto business will be able to organize the delivery of such models," explained the results of the year.
