In order to further promote post-epidemic tourism, Dubai announced that starting from New Year's Day 2023, the 30% tax on alcohol sales will be temporarily abolished, and alcohol licenses can also be obtained for free. The implementation period is tentatively scheduled for one year.

The report pointed out that due to taxation, tourists often complain that the price of local alcohol is astonishingly high, which is 4-5 times higher than that in other regions.

Taking beer as an example, a pint (568ml) of beer costs US$10 (approximately NT$307), and other alcoholic beverages are even more expensive.

It remains to be seen whether the price will be lowered after the 30% sales tax on alcohol is abolished.
