The country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited wholesaled 1,39,347 units of vehicles in the month of December, which is nine percent less than a year ago.

The company has given this information in a statement on Sunday.

In its statement, Maruti Suzuki has said that a year ago i.e. in December 2021, it had sold a total of 1,53,149 vehicles.

In this way, there has been a nine percent decline in its wholesale sales in the last month.

Let us tell you that in the last month i.e. November 2022, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 1,13,535 vehicles (Maruti Suzuki car sales) in the domestic market, which is 9.91 percent as compared to 1,26,031 units sold in the same month a year ago. is less.

Decline in sales of these vehicles

In the total vehicles sold by the company during December 2022, the sale of small cars like S-Presso and Alto has been only 9,765 units.

Similarly, sales of compact cars like Baleno, WagonR, Dzire, Ignis and Swift also declined to 57,502 units.

Sales of utility vehicles registered a boom

However, sales of utility vehicles like Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, XL6 and Grand Vitara have increased.

Sales of these vehicles have increased to 33,008 units as compared to 26,982 vehicles a year ago.

The company said in the statement that due to the shortage of electronic components, there has been a slight impact on the production of vehicles.

While the company has taken all possible steps to reduce this effect.

Sales of vehicles with 'auto gear shift' expected to pick up

Maruti Suzuki India (Maruti Suzuki India) is expected to accelerate the sales of vehicles with 'auto gear shift' next year.

For the first time in 2013-14, the company introduced 'Auto Gear Shift' (AGS) technology in its hatchback car Maruti Celerio, which relieves drivers from manually changing gears using the clutch.

Maruti Suzuki has so far sold a total of 7.74 lakh units of such vehicles.
