The first 500 richest people in the world lost $1.4 trillion in fortunes in 2022, including almost $100 billion - Russian oligarchs.

This is reported by Bloomberg.

This year saw a significant drop for a group of billionaires whose fortunes rose to unfathomable heights in the era of "easy money" during the pandemic.

So, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Changpeng Zhao and Mark Zuckerberg lost about 392 billion dollars from their combined wealth.

At the same time, not all billionaires felt equally bad - the Indian tycoon Gautam Adani surpassed Bill Gates and Warren Buffett according to the wealth index, and increased his wealth by $ 42 billion in a year to $ 119 billion.

He became the third richest person in the world at the end of August, and in September he briefly overtook Bezos and took second place in the ranking.

This is the highest ranking ever for an Asian billionaire.
