PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has put into practice his philosophy of Work Continues during this year by ensuring that various development projects, including strategic ones, are not interrupted for any reason.

After being sworn in as President in March last year, later, President Samia came up with his philosophy of 'Work Continues' which aims to continue the philosophy of his predecessor, the late John Magufuli of 'Hapa Kazi Tu'.

While this year is drawing to a close, Tanzanians have witnessed how President Samia managed and implemented his philosophy of Work Continues in practice by ensuring that all strategic projects are developed and completed and new projects are started.

Among those strategic projects is the construction of the Modern Railway (SGR) from Dar es Salaam to Mwanza and from Dar es Salaam to Kigoma where when he was sworn in as president last year, the construction of the section from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro was less than 90 percent .

At the recent signing of the construction of the SGR Tabora-Kigoma section, the Director General of the Tanzania Railway Corporation (TRC), Masanja Kadogosa said the construction of the SGR in all sections is progressing well.

Kadogosa noted that the Government of President Samia has succeeded in continuing the construction which until now the construction from Dar es Slaam to Morogoro has reached 97.67 percent, Morogoro-Makutupora (91.32 percent), Makutupora-Tabora (3.26 percent), Tabora-Isaka (0.49 percent) and Isaka - Mwanza (19.70 percent).

Another strategic project is the construction of the Julius Nyerere Dam (JNHPP) to generate hydropower on the Rufiji River.

When he launched the water filling of the dam on December 22 this year, President Samia said he found that the construction of the project was 37 percent when he came into power, but until he launched the water filling, its construction had reached 78.68 percent.

"I thank God for giving me the ability to continue this project," said President Samia.

The Minister of Energy, January Makamba, in showing that the project is going well, said that the rumors that the project is being delayed or stalled or deteriorating are not true after President Samia asked for water filling.

Also, the philosophy of work to continue has enabled President Samia to promote the construction of the John Magufuli Kigongo-Busisi Bridge in Mwanza region with a length of 3.2 kilometers at a cost of more than Sh 700 billion.

When he visited the construction of the bridge in June last year, its construction had reached 27 percent but until now according to the Manager of the Tanzania Road Agency (TANROADS) Mwanza Region, Pascal Ambrose, the construction of the bridge has reached 63 percent.

Regarding the implementation of the construction of the eight-lane road from Kimara to Kibaha with a length of 19.2 kilometers, during this year, the Government of President Samia has succeeded in developing the project.

Another major project that President Samia and his government has begun to implement is the Natural Gas (LNG) Processing and Processing project which in June this year witnessed at the Dodoma State House the signing of the initial agreement of the monopoly country (HGA) for gas processing and processing that.

On that day, President Samia said the project will cost Sh70 trillion and according to research, 10 percent equal to Sh7 trillion will be used in the country during the construction period of the project which will take four to five years and provide 10,000 jobs until completion.

Water projects

In order to ensure that Tanzanians get clean and safe water, during this year, President Samia has launched water projects in various areas including the water project in Kigamboni.

On November 11 this year, he launched the Kigamboni water project which provides 70 million liters of water per day for residents of various areas of Dar es Salaam.

He has also started the implementation of the Kidunda Dam project, worth Shs 329 billion, which will have the capacity to store water for three years to reduce the challenge of water availability for the Dar es Salaam Region.

In August this year, President Samia launched the Mbalizi (Shongo-Igale) water project which cost Shs 3.345 billion.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Water, Anthony Sanga, told President Samia that the project also involved the construction of a 1.5 million liter water storage tank and will be able to produce between eight and 12 million liters and serve 80,000 residents of Mbalizi.

These are just some of the water projects he launched this year, but there are many water projects being implemented in different areas of the country.

Fake certificates

Another big thing that President Samia has done during this year is his decision to agree to public servants who were fired because of fake certificates to be paid their contributions to the social security funds.

As a result of the president's action, the implementation of the matter officially began in November as noted by the Minister of State at the Prime Minister's Office for Labour, Youth, Employment and the Disabled, Professor Joyce Ndalichako.

Investment

Among the main things that President Samia has done this year is attracting investors from different countries.

To achieve this, he visited various countries in the world including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where he asked businessmen and investors from the UAE and around the world to come and invest in Tanzania.

While opening Tanzania's national day at the Dubai Expo 2020 in February this year, President Samia told traders and investors from more than 190 countries who participated in the exhibition that Tanzania is opening the door for anyone who wants to visit, invest and do business in this country.

As a result of these efforts, the Tanzania Investment Center (TIC) through its Acting Executive Director, John Mnali, said that it has registered a total of 132 projects with a value of US$ 3.16 billion equivalent to Sh 7.376 trillion in the five months from July to November this year.

Education In order to ensure that the education sector improves, this year he has provided Sh160 billion for the construction of 8,000 classrooms so that students who complete the seventh grade and pass can all enter secondary school, the construction of which has already been completed.

He has also given funding to 640 children who did well in science studies so that they can study higher education for free.

Royal Tour

Due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 disease, the tourism sector, like other sectors, was affected to a large extent, which prompted President Samia to record the Royal Tour Film which he launched in May this year in Dar es Salaam after doing so in the United States and in Arusha.

That is one of the biggest things he did this year.

While launching the film, he said the tourism sector employs 4.5 percent of Tanzanians and when Covid-19 tourism dropped by 27 percent and 412,000 people lost their jobs, so he decided to promote Tanzania to restore the sector to its original state.

One of the fruits of the Royal Tour film is the arrival of the large cruise ship Zaandam at the beginning of last month with a total of 1,060 tourists from the United States who came to visit various tourist attractions in the country.

The arrival of the ship caused the Director General of the Tanzania Tourism Board (TTB), Amos Nnko to say "We thank President Sami Akwa because the arrival of this ship is the result of the good work done by the government under his leadership, it is the fruit of the Royal Tour film he founded .”

Employment

In the course of this year, President Samia has employed many Tanzanians and among them is a statement from June this year stating that he issued employment permits to 9,800 teaching staff and professionals
