From January 1, 2023, the National Bank of Ukraine will begin withdrawing from circulation paper ATMs with denominations of 5, 10, 20 and 100 hryvnias of the 2003-2007 model.

Money will be withdrawn for their replacement.

Instead of them, circulation coins with denominations of 5 and 10 hryvnias of the 2018 model and banknotes with denominations of 20 and 100 hryvnias of the new generation will enter circulation.

The purpose of such a decision is to improve the quality of cash in circulation, to improve cash settlements.

In addition, the large number of different designs of banknotes of the same denomination leads to confusion and time-consuming calculations.

Next year, Ukrainian banks will not issue such banknotes from cash registers for all types of cash transactions.

In addition, the National Bank will not reinforce bank cash registers with such banknotes.

The aforementioned banknotes

remain valid means of payment

, citizens will be able to continue paying with them without restrictions.

ATMs will not need to be specially exchanged.
