[Financial Channel/Comprehensive Report] Reuters reported that Tesla originally planned to suspend Model Y assembly at the Shanghai Gigafactory from December 25 to January 1, 2023.

However, due to the illness of Tesla and its suppliers' workers, it will be suspended for 9 days from today (24th).

"Reuters" disclosed that according to internal notices and two sources familiar with the matter, Tesla suspended production at the Shanghai Gigafactory on Saturday (24th), which was equivalent to advancing the previous shutdown plan by one day.

Tesla canceled the morning shift and told all workers it was time to start the holiday, the people said, without giving a reason for the early shutdown.

A person familiar with the matter explained that workers at Tesla and suppliers fell ill due to the wave of the epidemic, which posed a challenge to operations in the past week.

Model Y production accounts for the largest proportion in Tesla's Shanghai plant, and it is a best-selling model. As the Chinese market faces the problem of continuous increase in inventory, Tesla hopes to produce only about 20,000 Model Y models in the last three weeks of December.

In response, Tesla's China media public relations did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
