Ukrainians buy generators en masse and use them in conditions of lack of light, and in some places even heating.

Residents of private houses use generators for electric stoves, electric boilers, boilers.

Generators, whether diesel or gasoline, are not cheap, their cost depends on the power - how much electricity they can produce.

A generator with a power of 3 kV is enough for the operation of a refrigerator, a boiler, a water pump, and a generator with a power of up to 5 kV can already be used both for a private house and some commercial establishment.

UAportal has calculated how much it will cost Ukrainians to use a generator of average power per day, if it works continuously.

Diesel generators usually have a consumption of 250 g/kWh, that is, when producing a kilowatt of energy per hour, it will burn 250 g of fuel, in 24 hours this will be six liters.

A gasoline generator with such a load will burn 350 g of fuel, that is, 8.4 liters per day.

Taking into account the fact that the average price of a liter of diesel in Ukraine today is UAH 55.02/l,

a day of operation of a diesel generator will cost UAH 330.

Today, A-95 gasoline costs UAH 51.39/liter on average.

That is

, a gasoline generator will spend more than UAH 430 per day.

For those who want to calculate the costs over time, you can use the following formula to calculate how much fuel the generator consumes.

Multiply G by P, where G is the fuel consumption per 1 kW of load per hour (l/kWh) and P is the value of the load on the device in kW.
