Today the rates of petrol and diesel in the country's metros

  • Petrol price in Delhi is Rs 96.72 and Diesel price is Rs 89.62 per litre.

  • Petrol price in Mumbai is Rs 106.31 per liter and diesel price is Rs 94.27 per liter.

  • Petrol price in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 per liter and diesel price is Rs 92.76 per liter.

  • Petrol price in Chennai is Rs 102.63 per liter and Diesel price is Rs 94.24 per liter.

Let us tell you that so far this year, the prices of petrol and diesel have decreased in some cities.

At the same time, there are some cities where the price of petrol and diesel has increased.

Petrol costlier by Rs 1.30 per liter in Delhi so far

At the beginning of this year i.e. on January 1, 2022, the petrol rate in the capital Delhi was Rs 95.41 per liter and diesel rate was Rs 86.67 per litre.

On the other hand, as of today, petrol has become Rs 96.72 and diesel Rs 89.62 per litre.

If we see in comparison, this year petrol in Delhi has become costlier by Rs. 1.30 paise per liter and diesel by Rs. 2.95 per liter so far this year.

Petrol prices reduced in Mumbai as compared to the beginning of this year

At the same time, compared to the beginning of this year, the petrol price in Mumbai has decreased while the diesel price has increased slightly. On January 1, petrol was Rs 109.98 per liter and diesel was Rs 94.14 per litre.

If compared with today's rate, till now in 2022, petrol in Mumbai has become cheaper by 3 rupees 67 paise per liter and the price of diesel has increased by 13 paise per litre.

Increase in the price of petrol and diesel in Kolkata and Chennai

Similarly, till now in 2022, the price of petrol in Kolkata has increased by Rs 1.36 paise per litre.

Whereas here the price of diesel has increased by Rs 2.97 per litre.

If we talk about Chennai, so far this year, the rate of petrol has increased by Rs 1.23 per liter while the rate of diesel has increased by 81 paise per litre.

Petrol-diesel prices expected to rise in the new year

Oil companies are suffering huge losses due to no change in the price of Petrol-Diesel for a long time.

According to a report, Indian Oil Corporation (IOL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have collectively incurred a loss of Rs 21,201.18 crore during the April-September quarter of the current financial year.

In such a situation, it is expected that these oil companies can increase the price of oil in the new year to make up for their losses.

Petrol-diesel prices are released every day at 6 am by the country's major government oil companies such as Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) and Indian Oil (IOL) for all cities, which are in line with the international markets. It is based on the price of crude oil.
