[Reporter Lin Jinghua/Taipei Report] The smart machine cloud approved by APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference) signed a smart machine cloud agreement with the international software giants Dassault Systèmes and Chunghwa Telecom respectively today at the two leading machinery associations and the Industrial Technology Research Institute. Letter of intent for cooperation (MOU), announcing the launch of the two major cooperation directions of being in line with international standards and seizing new southbound business opportunities.

In the first direction of cooperation, Dassault Corporation will provide 100 sets of heavyweight mechanical design software DELMIA and the third-party development interface of Solidworks to improve the design efficiency of Taiwan’s mechanical field and integrate with the international standards; in the second direction, domestic industry players will cooperate with Chunghwa Telecom, through The export of 5G information and communication to ASEAN countries strengthens the resilience of the supply chain of Taiwanese businessmen and seizes business opportunities in the new southbound market.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs held a forum on the achievements of smart machine cloud innovation and cross-domain services today. Shen Rongjin, vice president of the Executive Yuan, said that the reorganization of the supply chain in the US-China trade war has allowed Taiwanese businessmen to re-arrange, showing the importance of cross-domain operations. Qiu Qiuhui, director of technology at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, mentioned that the achievements of the smart machine cloud have been recognized by APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference), with a subsidy of US$100,000. The smart machine cloud can not only be used in Taiwan, but also be in line with international standards.

Today ITRI and Machinery Association signed MOUs with Dassault Systèmes and Chunghwa Telecom respectively.

Through 5G private network, Chunghwa Telecom can provide vertically integrated application solutions for new southbound countries, helping industry players to seize the smart manufacturing markets in Thailand and Vietnam.

Since the launch of Smart Machinery Cloud, there have been 1,500 members, and more than 70 companies have introduced and adopted it. Dassault, a French businessman, is also interested in the effectiveness of Smart Machinery Cloud. It hopes to extend from the Taiwan market to Southeast Asia. Dassault will provide 100 sets of mechanical design Software DELMIA and Solidworks third-party development interface.

Wei Canwen, chairman of the Machinery Association, pointed out that the machinery industry needs to fight for digital transformation, but the software needs of small and medium-sized enterprises are generally required by the industry. Through common and dedicated software on smart machinery, small and medium-sized enterprises can reduce their burden and accelerate transformation.
