The protocol, signed in Minsk and Moscow on June 23, excludes the reference to the North-West region of the Russian Federation from the basic agreement, which makes it possible to export Belarusian oil products through ports throughout Russia, writes BPN.

The agreement was signed on February 19, 2021 in Moscow.

It provides guaranteed volume and nomenclature of transshipment of petroleum products in ports until December 31, 2023.

The document envisages a fixed total cost of railway transportation, services of operator companies and transshipment for all declared annual volumes of oil products.

This year, on August 11, Lukashenka said that Belarus "had a good chance" to create its own port infrastructure on the territory of Russia.

"The port should be built quickly and with minimum costs.

Today, we are primarily talking about the North-Western region of the Russian Federation," he said.

On September 8, Lukashenka announced that Russian President

Vladimir Putin

is interested in the passage of Belarusian exports through the sea ports of the Murmansk region.

According to him, "the northern direction will significantly complement the cooperation in the field of logistics, taking into account St. Petersburg."

The Prime Minister of Belarus,

Roman Golovchenko

, noted on October 3 that Minsk and Moscow are "creating new transport and logistics chains."

"In fact, new schemes for the supply of Belarusian products using Russian ports of the North-West region, the Black and Azov seas, as well as overland routes have appeared," said Golovchenko.
