The credit agency Fitch Ratings presented its latest report Global Shipping Outlook 2023, in which it revised down the forecasts for commercial shipping deliveries from "neutral" to "deteriorating" as a result of problems that container shipping may face, BNR reported.

"Easing pressure on supply chains has led to a near-normalization of container shipping rates, suggesting that profits in 2023 will be much weaker than in the past three years," Fitch noted.

"Fitch" lowered to "negative" the outlook for the credit rating of Great Britain

The credit agency explained that some of the main risks to global shipping will likely be a more severe than expected recession, along with the continuation of Covid lockdowns in China.

In such a scenario, demand and production will be further weakened, Fitch predicts.
