The euro fell this morning after reaching its highest level since late June yesterday, German financial information sites reported. 

In morning interbank trade in Frankfurt, the single currency was trading at $1.0484. 

The European Central Bank set a reference rate of 1.0587 dollars for one euro yesterday.
