The Ministry of Economy predicts that the GDP of Ukraine will fall by 32-33.5% at the end of the current year.

Forecasts had to be worsened due to missile attacks on the energy system by Russian troops

This was reported by the Minister of Economy, Yulia Svyridenko, Interfax-Ukraine agency reports.

"At the beginning of the year, we assumed that the economy would fall at the level of 32-33%. Then the economy showed very high adaptive abilities. But in view of the attack on the energy system. We, as the Ministry of Economy, slightly worsened our prospects," said Svyridenko .

According to her, the drop in GDP may be as much as 33.5% after shelling and shutdown of some enterprises.

She also assumed that the National Bank would agree with such forecasts.

Earlier it became known that

the deficit

of the general fund of the state budget of Ukraine in November 2022 increased by 11% compared to October to UAH 163.3 billion.

The actual deficit was even higher — UAH 170 billion.

In  this year's

budget

, the number one priority is defense needs, and the rest of the expenses have been cut to a minimum.

More than a trillion hryvnias a year - such an astronomical amount - the war costs Ukraine - this is the entire annual budget of Ukraine until February 24.

All other costs will be financed by international aid.

The budget deficit was planned to be unheard of - 20% of GDP.

The next year's budget was drawn up based on the conditionally pessimistic scenario that the war would continue throughout the year.

The second priority item of expenditure will be social programs — payments of pensions, subsidies, expenses for medicine and education.

For this purpose, it is planned to allocate another 35% of the entire budget - more than UAH 800 billion.
