The draft national budget for 2023 was published on the National Legal Internet Portal.

It plans to increase spending on national defense and law enforcement agencies.

Expenditures on education and healthcare will also increase, but less, Reform.by noted.

In general, the expenses of the republican budget for 2023 are planned at the level of almost 36 billion 536.2 million rubles, and the income - 33.36 billion rubles.

The planned budget deficit for the next year exceeds 3.17 billion rubles.

Compared to 2022, the draft budget increases expenditures by 5.9 billion rubles, and revenues by 5.53 billion rubles.

The size of the deficit increased by 330 million rubles.

It is planned to spend 2.77 billion rubles on national defense

, including 2.635 billion rubles on defense and the Armed Forces, and 110.5 million rubles on mobilization training and mobilization.

Compared to the 2022 budget, defense spending will increase by 960 million rubles, including the Armed Forces - by 930 million rubles.

According to the project, spending

on law enforcement structures,

that is, on the judiciary, law enforcement and security, will amount to 4.07 billion rubles, or 926 million rubles more than in the 2022 budget, including:

  • for internal affairs bodies - 1.49 billion rubles (+340 million rubles).

  • for the prosecutor's office - 144.16 million rubles (+34 million rubles),

  • for border service bodies - 391.06 million rubles (+90 million rubles),

  • bodies of the criminal enforcement system — 347.87 million rubles (+74 million rubles),

  • state security bodies — 334.6 million rubles (+93 million rubles)

  • judicial authorities — 231.28 million rubles (+53 million rubles),

  • customs - 215.04 million rubles (+42 million rubles),

  • bodies and units for emergency situations 445.6 million rubles (+98 million rubles).

1.635 billion rubles are planned for education

in the republican budget for 2023, including 1.2 billion rubles for higher education.

In general, spending on education increases by 170 million rubles.

Healthcare costs

amount to 2.1 billion rubles (compared to 2022, they will increase by 230 million rubles), including 872.1 million rubles will be allocated for medical assistance to the population.

At the same time, it should be noted that the costs of health care and education are largely financed from local budgets.

Expenditures on physical education, sports, culture and media in 2023 are planned in the amount of 624.3 million rubles, including
