Amazon is one of the fastest growing e-commerce markets in the world.

New Delhi:

According to a Bloomberg report, giant tech and e-commerce platform Amazon has decided to shut down parts of its Indian operations.

The company said it is exiting Servil, which provides food delivery as well as bulk doorstep delivery of packaged consumer goods for small businesses.

According to sources aware of the matter, the impact of this decision of the company will be seen on more than 100 of its thousands of employees.

Under this, the company will lay off those employees who are working in the online retail segment in the country.

The company's Chief Executive Officer Andy Jassy is running a cost-cutting campaign to reduce expenses and jobs worldwide due to sluggish business in many sectors of Amazon.

Amazon, one of the fastest growing e-commerce markets in the world, is struggling in the Indian market these days.

It faces competition from Reliance Industries Ltd and Tata Group as well as Walmart Inc's Flipkart.
