The euro started the week off half a cent against the dollar in morning interbank trade today, German financial information sites reported. 

In Frankfurt this morning, the single currency was trading at $1.0355. 

On Friday, the European Central Bank set a reference rate of $1.0375 per euro. 

The Euro is slightly lower this morning

Market analysts pointed to the strengthening of the dollar, which gained against almost all major currencies this morning, as investors bet on safe-haven assets amid concerns over events in China.
