On Friday, the rupee had closed at 81.71 against the dollar with a weakness of just one paise.

Dollar vs Rupee Rate: The rupee depreciated by 6 paise to 81.77 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday.

The Indian rupee opened weak at 81.81 against the dollar at the interbank foreign exchange.

After which, registering a decline of 6 paise compared to the previous closing price, it reached 81.77.

In the last session i.e. on Friday, the rupee had closed at 81.71 against the dollar with a weakness of just one paise.

However, forex dealers said that easing crude oil prices in the international market and fresh foreign fund inflows capped the rupee's losses.

Along with the weak trend in the domestic equity markets, the strength of the US currency was seen.

The dollar index rose 0.41 percent to 106.39.

Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures fell 2.58 per cent to $81.47 per barrel.

Meanwhile, in the domestic equity market, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading 27.97 points or 0.04 per cent lower at 62,265.67.


According to exchange data, foreign institutional investors (FPIs) were net buyers in the capital market on Friday.

During this, he has bought Indian shares worth Rs 369.08 crore.
