[Reporter Li Xinfang/Taipei Report] After Taiwan and the United States launched the "Taiwan-U.S. 21st Century Trade Initiative" in June this year, after many discussions, it was finally decided that the first negotiation meeting would be held on November 8 and 9.
It is reported that this physical meeting will be held in New York, the United States, and Taiwan and the United States are expected to come to the negotiating table on four issues including trade facilitation, small and medium-sized enterprises, good regulatory practices, and anti-corruption.

After launching the Taiwan-US 21st Century Trade Initiative on June 1 this year, the Executive Yuan announced on August 18 that the two sides agreed to formally launch the Taiwan-US trade negotiation and negotiation. Eleven topics including corruption, small and medium-sized enterprises, digital trade, labor, environment, standards, state-owned enterprises, and non-market policies and measures will be negotiated, but the issue of tariff reduction will not be dealt with for the time being.

The Economic and Trade Office said yesterday that the first negotiation meeting will be attended by representatives from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the National Development Council, the Defense Inspection Bureau of the Agricultural Commission, the Legislative Council of the Executive Yuan, and the Economic and Trade Office.
