The Turkish publication Haberler reported that Russia is ready to provide energy to Europe through Turkey, and for this purpose it intends to build a large natural gas hub in Turkey for transportation to Europe.
The publication cites as the source of this information a statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin, made within the energy week held in Moscow.
"While European countries are taking various measures to deal with the energy crisis, a surprising statement from the Russian leader came from Moscow, which is of particular importance for Europe, which is experiencing difficult times: "We are ready to supply natural gas through Nord Stream 2.
We can build a large natural gas hub in Turkey for Europe," Putin said, the publication said.

Commentary on this news item states that after Russia shut down the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, which provides most of the gas flow to Europe, European natural gas prices have jumped dramatically.
It is believed that Russia will not resume Nord Stream 1 gas supplies until Europe lifts sanctions against Moscow over its invasion of Ukraine.
