"Google" announces that it plans to stop its virtual cloud gaming service "Stadia" (Stadia) and refund the money to gamers who paid for the service, reports the BBC.

When it launched in November 2019, Stadia was billed as the "Netflix" of gaming, allowing players to stream games online without owning a console.

However, the service will now end on January 18, 2023 due to lack of interest and attraction to the service among gamers.

Google promises to refund players who bought its Stadia controller, as well as any games or additional content.

The company said it estimates the refunds will be completed by mid-January 2023.

The Stadia games are hosted on servers in Google data centers around the world, with video streamed to a TV or mobile device.
