The GOVERNMENT has said it is determined to place Tanzania in the development of information and communication technology (IT) in the world.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Information, Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Jim Yonazi has also said that the government wants to develop its influence as the center of IT in the central and southern regions of Africa to keep up with the technological changes happening every day around the world.

Dr. Yonazi said this on Monday before the General Assembly of the International Telecommunication Union 2022 (ITU PP22) held in Bucharest in Romania.

Dr. Yonazi also said that Tanzania will influence and attract international projects, companies and development partners in IT to build capacity and promote the creativity of young people to use emerging technologies in the country.

The conference is the highest policy-making body of the ITU and involves representatives of the 193 member states of the union.
