[Financial Channel/Comprehensive Report] A 22-year-old Iranian woman, Mahsa Amini, died after being arrested by religious police on suspicion of not wearing a hijab, sparking large-scale demonstrations.

The Iranian government has forcibly cut off internet services in most areas in order to cut off public contact and prevent images of the crackdown from leaking out.

After the Iranian people turned to Musk for help, the U.S. government announced on the 23rd that it would adjust the content of sanctions to help Iranian people avoid online surveillance and censorship.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk immediately announced the launch of the Starlink satellite network service in Iran.

Iran's 22-year-old Amini died last week after being arrested by religious police because he was suspected of not wearing a hijab.

In order to avoid the escalation of the situation and the outflow of the crackdown, the Iranian government directly cut off most of the Internet services.

The Iranian people turned to Musk for help, hoping to open Internet services through Starlink, but because the United States imposed sanctions on Iran, the consent of the US government must be obtained first.

On Friday (23rd), the U.S. Treasury Department issued new guidelines that allow U.S. companies to provide Internet services in Iran, which is under U.S. economic sanctions.

A Treasury spokesman said the new general licenses were self-executing and any eligible business would not need to apply for a separate license to provide services.

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken tweeted: "To advance the freedom of the Internet and the flow of information for the Iranian people, today we issued a general license to give them more access to digital communications to counter the Iranian government's surveillance. "

Musk immediately responded to Blinken, writing "Start Starlink..." in a tweet.

The Starlink satellite system launched by Musk’s SpaceX is now supporting Iran because of its extraordinary achievements in helping Ukraine.
