This week in Ukraine, prices for greenhouse vegetables rose sharply.

This is reported by the EastFruit platform.

"Currently, the crisis in the cultivation of greenhouse vegetables has already affected almost all EU countries. The increase in the price of energy sources, as well as the complication of logistics, has caused a mass refusal of European producers from the winter season of growing greenhouse vegetables. Today, a similar situation has developed in Ukraine," the report says.

It is noted that only since the beginning of the current week, selling

prices for cucumbers have increased by an average of 25%

, and at this time the sale of these products is carried out in the range of UAH 45-55/kg.

Greenhouse tomatoes

rose in price by an average of 29%

during the week

.

Yes, sales of tomatoes currently cost UAH 40-50/kg.

According to representatives of greenhouse plants, such a rapid increase in the price of greenhouse vegetables is a forced measure.

With the arrival of cold weather, many producers have already started heating their greenhouses.

At the same time, it should be taken into account that it is currently very difficult for Ukrainian manufacturers to switch to alternative types of fuel.

There are also some Ukrainian manufacturers whose enterprises are located in the occupied territories or were damaged as a result of active hostilities, they will also not be able to continue working this season.

As EastFruit writes, according to key market players,

this season in Ukraine there may well be a shortage of both greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers

.

We will remind you that earlier the State Statistics Service published data on the

prices of goods and services in August

.

It is noted that the prices of eggs, sugar, lard and meat were increased the most in Ukrainian markets and stores.

At the same time, beets, potatoes and carrots, on the contrary, fell in price.
