Natural gas in Europe rose in price by 6.56 percent as of 10:30 a.m. Bulgarian time today, according to data from London's ICE exchange at the start of trading this morning.
Currently, October futures on the TTF hub in the Netherlands are trading at €207 per megawatt hour - about $2,050 per 1,000 cubic meters.
This morning the exchange opened at a price of 203 euros per megawatt hour.
The exchange closed yesterday at a price of 194.26 euros per megawatt hour, or about $1,920 per 1,000 cubic meters.
The largest price peak on the largest European gas exchange so far was reported on August 26 - 346.52 euros per megawatt hour - about 3,500 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters, BTA recalls.
Natural gas in Europe is down more than 2% this morning
On "Gas Hub Balkan" in the "day ahead" segment, natural gas with a delivery day for today, September 21, is 0.67 percent more expensive (BGN 331.96 per megawatt hour) compared to the price with a delivery day for yesterday - BGN 329.75 per megawatt hour.
In the "intraday" segment, no transactions have been executed yet.
The reference price for today is BGN 331.96 per megawatt hour.
