As reported, in January-August 2022, the gross domestic product of Belarus decreased by 4.9% compared to the same period last year, according to Belstat data.

In January - July, the fall in GDP was 5.2%, in January - June - 4.2%, January - May - 3.4%, January - April - 2.1%, January - March - 0.4%.

In January - February, the GDP growth was recorded by 1.2%, in January - by 2.7%, according to the results of 2021 - by 2.3%.

In 2020, it decreased by 0.9%, in 2019 - increased by 1.2%, in 2018 - by 3%, in 2017 - by 2.4%, in 2016 - decreased by 2.6 %.

According to the information of the National Statistical Committee, industrial production decreased by 6.6% in January-August (by 6.2% in January-July).

Retail turnover decreased by 2% (1.5%), wholesale - by 16.3% (15.7%).

At the same time, the growth of agricultural production after its significant decline was recorded.

Output of products in farms of all categories (agricultural organizations, farms, households) amounted to 18.4 billion rubles, which is 1.8% more in comparable prices compared to January-August last year.

Agricultural organizations produced products worth 16.5 billion rubles, or 3.2% more than in eight months of 2021.

Agricultural production in Belarus, which is highly dependent on weather conditions, decreased by 10.4% in the seven months of this year compared to the same period last year, and by 3% in the six months.
