Belarusian state television released a 10-minute story about the new Belarusian laptop from Horizont.

From the plot, we only learned the price - 1,300 Belarusian rubles.

And also — that the laptop will withstand cold and heat, and the first batch will go to Russia.

Neither technical characteristics nor other details were told.

Earlier, journalists noticed that the laptop shown by Lukashenko at a meeting with schoolchildren and students is very similar to the Lenovo IdeaPad L3 model.

The difference is the web camera: the Lenovo IdeaPad L3 has a camera, the model shown by Lukashenka does not.

A laptop from Lenovo in Minsk costs 1351 rubles and has the following characteristics:

  • The monitor is 15.6 inches

  • Processor — Intel Celeron 6305 1800 MHz

  • Memory — 4 GB DDR4

  • The drive is a 256 GB SSD

What else can be bought for the price of a laptop from Horizont

1,300 rubles is an average price category, judging by the prices in Belarusian hardware stores.

You can't buy a gaming laptop for that kind of money, but you can pick up a decent working set from world-renowned brands.

For example, the Acer Aspire 3 model with:

  • The monitor is 15.6 inches

  • The processor is AMD A4 9120e 1500 MHz

  • Memory — 4 GB DDR4

  • The drive is a 256 GB SSD

This model costs exactly 1,300 rubles, just like the model from Horizont.

For almost the same money, you can buy a laptop from HP with the following features:

  • The monitor is 15.6 inches

  • Processor — Intel Celeron N4020 1100 MHz

  • Memory — 4 GB DDR4

  • The drive is a 256 GB SSD

It costs 1355 rubles.

And what is on the Russian market?

According to the plan of the Belarusian manufacturers, they plan to send the first batch of laptops to Russia.

Let's see what the market is like and whether there is really a need for Belarusian laptops.

For the same price as a Horizont laptop, you can buy the same Lenovo IdeaPad L3 in online stores in Russia.

Or, for example, a laptop from Acer with characteristics:

  • The monitor is 15.6 inches

  • Processor — Intel Celeron N4020 1100 MHz

  • Memory — 4 GB DDR4

  • The drive is a 256 GB SSD

And where can they sell Belarusian novelty?

So far, it is completely unclear what kind of filling is in the Belarusian laptop and what kind of characteristics it has, therefore it is impossible to say anything about its productivity and performance.

So say the experts in "iron", to whom Svoboda turned.

As for the future niche, "laptops may appear in Belarusian schools and state institutions."
