In the "Day Ahead" market segment of the Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange (BNEB), the total amount of electricity traded for August was 2,349,406 megawatt hours (MWh), which is 8.4 percent less compared to the previous month and 9 percent more compared to the same month of last year.

This is reported by BNEB in its monthly bulletin.

The average monthly price for basic cargo is BGN 846.59, or 33.9 percent higher than the July price.

The average monthly price for a base load of electricity at BNEB hovered around 430 euros and is the lowest for a consecutive month in the region.

It is followed by the average monthly price of the regional exchange HenEx (Greece) - about 436 euros, and of OPCOM (Romania) - about 490 euros.

The highest was the average price of HUPX (Hungary) - about 495 euros.

The top 3 most active participants in the "Day Ahead" market in August by net traded quantities include: Kozloduy NPP EAD, National Electric Company EAD, EVN Trading South East Europe EAD.

In the intraday market segment, the total amount of traded electric energy for the month is 95,745 MWh, which is 10.2 percent more compared to the previous one and 11.8 percent less compared to the same month of 2021.

The monthly weighted average price is BGN 888.02 or 33.9 percent higher compared to July.

The top 3 most active participants in the "Intraday" market in August in terms of net traded quantities include: "Nomad Energy Company" EOOD, "Energy Supply" EOOD, "Energo-pro Energy Services" EAD.
