The total turnover of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) for August amounted to BGN 55.50 million and marked a decrease of 16 percent compared to the previous month, when it reached BGN 66.11 million. For the period January-August 2022, the turnover doubles (an increase of over 108 percent) compared to the same period of 2021 and reaches BGN 636 million, the Stock Exchange reported in its monthly bulletin, cited by BTA.

The number of transactions on the BSE in August was 8,581, which compared to the 7,438 realized in July, represents an increase of 15.4 percent.

For the period from January to August 2022, compared to the same period of the previous year, the number of transactions increased by nearly 50 percent.

In the BSE trading structure, the largest share of 37.06 percent (BGN 20.57 million) is the turnover of MTF BSE International, followed by the share of turnover of the Standard shares segment - 35.50 percent (19 .70 million BGN), and that of the alternative market - 12.17 percent (6.76 million BGN).

The market capitalization at the end of the month was BGN 30.82 billion or 19.94 percent of the country's GDP.

The top 3 of the most liquid issues of shares on the Bulgarian capital market for August are: "Alterco" AD (448 deals), "Dronamix Capital" AD (433 deals) and "Bulgarian Stock Exchange" AD (309 deals).

In August, all BSE stock indices, with the exception of the sectoral BGREIT, recorded increases on a monthly basis.

The growth was the highest for the SOFIX blue chip benchmark - 2.1 percent.

Changes in the broad gauge BGBX40 and BGTR30 were weaker, with the two indexes up 0.74 percent and 0.73 percent.

The decrease in the sectoral BGREIT was by 0.93 percent compared to the previous month of the year. 

The top 3 profitable companies from the main SOFIX stock index during the month are: TB "First Investment Bank" AD, "Telelink Business Services Group" AD and "Alterco" AD, which grew by 7.29 percent, 5 percent and 4 percent, respectively. .74 per cent.

The top 3 losing companies from SOFIX include: TB "Central Cooperative Bank" AD, "Bulgaria Real Estate Fund" REIT and "Holding Varna" AD, with their declines being 3.43 percent, 1.65 percent and 0 .93 per cent.

Among the 15 issues of SOFIX, 11 reported an increase during the reporting period and four recorded a decrease.

In August, 1,219 deals were concluded with the shares of the companies traded on the beam growth market with a turnover of BGN 1.29 million. During the month, the trading of the shares of the company "Bee Smart Technologies" (Bee Smart Technologies), which debuted the previous month on the beam market and raised BGN 1.2 million.

During the month under review, the number of transactions on the MTF BSE International market was 2,445, and the turnover amounted to BGN 20.57 million.

On August 2, the BSE announced its partnership with one of the world's leading providers of data and infrastructure for the financial markets - Refinitiv, part of the London Stock Exchange Group.

Refinitiv will manage and provide data on the sustainable performance of Bulgarian public companies.

This data in the form of ratings will serve to select the companies that will enter the future ESG index of the BSE, the methodology of which is expected to be adopted by the end of 2022.

On August 5, "Bi Smart Technologies" debuted on the beam market of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.

Trading in the company's shares on the beam market began after the success of the initial public offering (IPO), in which it raised BGN 1,199,990.

The size of the issue of "Bii Smart Technologies" is BGN 407,386, divided into the corresponding number of shares, each with a nominal value of BGN 1 (one).

"Bi Smart Technologies" plans to invest the funds raised in expanding its business on the European market and developing its product range.
