The Minister of Agriculture Yavor Gechev

Yavor Gechev was born on June 10, 1978 in Plovdiv.

He is an engineer-agronomist by education.

In 2001, he discussed with producers of greenhouse produce in Kurtovo Konare the problems in the sector and measures to support agricultural producers.

At the meeting, farmers presented data on rising energy costs and the need to effectively combat economically important plant diseases.

Minister Gechev recalled that until September 16, 2022, applications are accepted under the scheme "Aid to support the liquidity of farmers to overcome the negative economic impact of Russian aggression against Ukraine" for 2022, and the sector will be supported with 426 million BGN from the state budget.

"We have shortened the deadlines for receiving documents, because it is important for farmers to receive the funds as quickly as possible," the agrarian minister pointed out.

The Bulgarian Association of Greenhouse Producers also raised the topic of the National Program for the control of the tomato mining moth.

"I am aware of the difficulties you are facing, the year is not easy for the sector, we will solve the current issues in a permanent dialogue.
