According to the information I have, Baku does not have free quantities to provide to the market in the next two years.

It is very difficult to answer where he will find them.

We also need to see how the gas will reach Bulgaria, since the interconnector is still not working.

This was stated by Svetoslav Benchev from the Bulgarian Oil and Gas Association on the air of "Day ON AIR".

"The price of Azeri gas is currently tied to that of oil products, which means a much lower price than the one we have on the TTF exchange and in Europe in general," he commented.

Benchev expressed his doubts that the Azerbaijani side would agree on such conditions, as they are not profitable for it.

According to him, Bulgaria should have continued its contract with Gazprom until the end of the year and at the same time look for options for long-term contracts with other suppliers.

The Bulgarian Minister of Economy: Our country is interested in increasing supplies from Azerbaijan even after the completion of the Southern Gas Corridor

"What will most likely happen if no agreement is reached with Gazprom is that we will buy Russian gas again, but through intermediaries," he predicted.

Benchev also discussed the possibility of making pan-European decisions regarding the threat of a gas crisis.

According to him, Ursula von der Leyen's proposals are "frivolous and others - unworkable".

"We lost a lot of time. It was clear that in Europe the problems with gas supplies from Russia would arise at some point," he stated.

According to the expert, it would be difficult for Bulgaria to reduce its consumption of natural gas, since we do not have a large household consumption, and the process would be extremely difficult for industry and district heating.

In response to a question about whether the system in Sofia will last if there is no "Heating", Benchev stressed that "there will be problems, especially in the low voltage network".

"The gigantic debts of Toplofikatsia also threaten Bulgargaz. It is likely that in the next heating season the debt will exceed another 800 million," he said.

Benchev is of the opinion that the recovery of "Bulgargaz" goes through solving the problem with "Toplofikatsiya".

"Fuel prices are in a relatively adequate situation. We continue to have one of the lowest prices in the EU - we are 30-40 cents below the euro price. It will become clear how fuel prices will move towards the middle or end of October." he summed up.

According to the calculations of the Bulgarian Oil and Gas Association, the aid funds of 25 cents per liter of fuel will arrive by the beginning of November.
