Nearly 800 thousand tons of grain from Ukraine have been delivered so far within the framework of the agreement on the grain corridor through the Black Sea, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar told A Haber TV.

According to him, the implementation of the deal is going smoothly at the moment.

"So far, 36 ships have left the ports, and 39 vessels have reached Ukraine's empty ports. We continue with constant contacts with both the Russian and Ukrainian sides and closely monitor the process," Akar added.

On July 22 in Istanbul, Turkey, the United Nations, Russia and Ukraine signed an agreement to resume grain exports from the Ukrainian Black Sea ports of Yuzhny, Chernomorsk and Odesa, which had been suspended due to the six-month-old Russian-Ukrainian war.

A Joint Coordination Center with officials from the three countries and the United Nations was set up in Istanbul to oversee supplies.
