Breathtaking footage of the planet Jupiter has been released by NASA. They were captured by the James Webb telescope using special filters on its infrared camera that show never-before-seen detail and show Jupiter as we've never seen it before.
The auroras, the moons Almathea and Adrasthea, and Jupiter's signature rings are captured in great detail, including a storm so big it would engulf Earth.
Conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune - one of the luckiest astro-events
The photos of the largest planet in the solar system were taken in July.
The footage is additionally tinted to make the images stand out.
James Webb is a $9 billion project.
The telescope was launched late last year and a month later reached its endpoint, which is more than 1 million kilometers from Earth.
