New Delhi:

Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Thursday took a jibe at Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, saying she should now appoint a 'Chief Economic Astrologer' (Chief Economic Astrologer).

Nirmala Sitharaman had retweeted some tweets related to NASA's new space telescope presenting the deepest form of the universe ever.

Chidambaram took a dig at him for this.

The former finance minister tweeted, "We are not surprised that the Finance Minister tweeted pictures of Jupiter, Pluto and Uranus on the day when inflation was recorded at 7.1 percent and unemployment rate at 7.8 percent."

Chidambaram said, "Having lost hope in his own skills and the skills of his economic advisors, the Finance Minister has called upon the planets to save the economy."

He said, 'To start this, they should appoint a new CEA i.e. Chief Economic Astrologer (Chief Economic Astrologer).'

After giving up hope in her own skills and the skills of her economic advisers, the FM has called the planets to the rescue of the economy

To begin with, she should appoint a new CEA: Chief Economic Astrologer

Finance Minister Sitharaman had shared tweets containing pictures of NASA Webb Telescope, in which some unseen pictures of the universe have been revealed.

And this!

“…stellar winds shape colossal walls of dust and gas.”

Fascinating!

Chidambaram had recently attacked the government regarding the condition of the economy.

He had tweeted, "Within a few months of fixing the fiscal deficit target of 6.4 percent for 2022-23, the government is going back.

Now the government is saying that it will try to keep the fiscal deficit at 6.7 percent.

The same level of fiscal deficit was in 2021-22 as well.

Former finance minister Chidambaram also said, "High fiscal deficit, high inflation, massive outflow of foreign capital, falling rupee, fall in foreign exchange reserves... what will they do about it?"

Is this the great state of the Indian economy?'
