New Delhi:

Ratan Tata's conglomerate Tata Group company Tata Consumer Products Ltd.

It is working on a big plan to increase its reach in the consumer market.

Tata Consumer, a food and beverage sector company, is planning to acquire several companies amid Mukesh Ambani's Reliance's large presence in the market.

Discussions are going on for at least five brands of the sector.

Bloomberg has given this information in one of its reports.

Sunil D'Souza, CEO, Tata Consumer Products, has told in an interview that the company is in talks with many such potential companies, where there is a possibility of their good valuation.

He said that 'the company is in talks with such companies in all seriousness'.

However, he has not given any clarification on which companies are his target.

D'Souza said that 'we are contacting potential brands, to find out whether there is interest in the market or not.

There are some places where valuations are high, but considering the liquidity and market pressure at the moment, I expect them to be affordable.

Let us tell you that the 153-year-old Tata Group started its company Tata Consumer in the consumer sector in 2020.

Since then the company has acquired NourishCo Beverages Ltd.

and has expanded its portfolio by acquiring companies like Soulfull.

However, in the fiercely competitive market, the company's road will not be easy as it will face international brand Unilever and Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Ltd.
