Turkey is ready to provide gas to the European Union instead of Russia, RIA Novosti reported.

According to an adviser to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, there are enough blue fuel reserves in the eastern Mediterranean region and these quantities can be offered to the EU.

"Ankara is ready to be part of this process," he added.
