"We will lose at first - that must be clear.

We will lose the difference between the price of the gas we received and the price of the gas we have to look for around us.

And if we see the price of gas in Greece, which we can buy at this late stage, because the government is late, in Italy, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania - it is a difference of 20-30-40 percent more expensive gas.

Bulgaria will receive this in the coming months. "

This was stated on the air of "Hello, Bulgaria" by the former Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov

Simeon Denchev Dyankov was born on July 13, 1970 in Sofia. He graduated from the language high school in Lovech.

He is studying in response to a question about how much the current gas crisis will cost us.

According to him, no one was prepared for the war in Ukraine.

"It simply came to our notice then.

The government is catching up.

But some things could have been done immediately by this cabinet - a month or two ago, and not to wait until now with this hesitant position on Ukraine.

Are we on the side of Ukraine, are we standing by and watching?

You saw that Bulgaria was one of the two countries that turned on the tap.

We should not have hesitated, but immediately look for other ways to supply gas.

In Qatar, in Egypt - there are producers around us.

Now this has yet to be done, but I do not think that the cabinet has set out on this path, "Dyankov stressed.

"Gas is getting more expensive everywhere.

And not just Russian gas.

Within 2-3 years - by 2026 - the gas will double.

There is no option in which our gas will become cheaper.

Bulgaria is simply one of those countries where an increase will occur now - and in the future.

This could have been avoided to some extent if the government had not hesitated so much, "said the former finance minister.

Energy expert: One day Russia will pray to European countries to receive gas from it

According to him, the businesses that will be most affected by the expensive blue fuel should be supported immediately.

"This is the work of the Ministry of Economy, which speaks with common words, but has not done anything so far," Djankov said.

"We are already at war.

We were stopped on the gas.

The government and parliament must be much more determined and side with Ukraine.

There is no room for government hesitation.

Nor from parliament.

It is high time to show which side we are on, otherwise we only lose ", the former Deputy Prime Minister was categorical.

Asked whether military aid should be sent to Ukraine, he said: "Everything we can do for Ukraine - we must do it at this time.

Everything Ukraine asked us for, including weapons.

"Everything within our capabilities."
