We have been living in force majeure for more than two years. Nobody pays attention to our demands. Prices are rising and the question is not how much the bread will cost, but whether there will be bakers. We want compensation for electricity, gas, VAT reduction or complete liquidation If these conditions are not met, apart from today's increase, there will be a new one tomorrow. "

This was stated in the program "The Day Live" on Nova News by Mariana Kukusheva, chairwoman of the National Branch Union of Bakers.

According to her, the question is whether the bread producers will allow themselves to go bankrupt.

Will bread become more expensive due to the suspended gas supplies?

Nobody pays attention to our demands, energy prices have risen steadily, the price of all consumables is rising. 20% of every loaf goes to the state, if VAT falls, bakers will be saved. The industry is decapitalized. Will we allow ourselves to survive and this time it is the question, "she stressed.

The President of the National Branch Union of Bakers pointed out that the delivery price of bread in Bulgaria is the lowest in the EU and thanks to the efforts of bakers on our market there are over 100 types of bread.

Mariana Kukusheva is worried about the unrest of grain producers.

Thanks to them, there is no grain crisis in Bulgaria, which is why we owe them respect.

Kostadin Kostadinov, chairman of the board of the National Association of Grain Producers, was adamant that there is enough grain in Bulgaria, despite the government's vague stance.

"Everything is stocked with grain and there is a separate amount in the traders. The price of grain is exchange, it changes every day. 700 leva per ton is currently bought grain. The state, which had to buy grain, bread wheat, wanted to buy on BGN 570 per ton If the state buys in order to ensure food security, it must be from a new harvest. grain, but the prices of fuels, detergents and fertilizers are rising, "he said.

Kostadinov noted that the grain production sector has not received any compensation.

Regarding the idea of building a grain hub in the port of Varna to sell Ukrainian wheat, Kostadinov believes that this could happen only after investments, because the port of Varna does not have the necessary infrastructure and is not large enough. for example, the Romanian port of Constanta, which is ten times larger.
