The price of natural gas in Europe today rose to 1,700 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters, according to data from the international exchange ICE.

The April futures of the TTF hub in the Netherlands at 10:00 Bulgarian time traded for 137 euros per megawatt-hour, which is over 1550 dollars per 1000 cubic meters.

At the opening of the exchange, the price of natural gas was 130 euros per megawatt-hour, but at 9:30 a.m. it reached 140 euros per megawatt-hour (about $ 1,600 per 1,000 cubic meters).

Yesterday, the exchange closed at a price of 121.68 euros per megawatt-hour (about 1350 dollars per 1000 cubic meters).

Subsequently, prices rose to 1,710 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters, or 149 euros per megawatt-hour.

The price peak in recent days was marked on February 24, when natural gas exceeded the threshold of 132 euros per megawatt-hour, or just under $ 1,500 per 1,000 cubic meters, which happened for the first time since December 23, 2021. On February 25, the price decreased to 93.15 euros per megawatt-hour (just over $ 1,000 per 1,000 cubic meters), but in the following days blue fuel in Europe began to rise again, with the price jump in the last two days quite sharp and today exceeding the limits that were reported on 24 February.
