According to sports experts, some exercises can be suitable for fasting during Ramadan.

A nutrition expert told Sky News Arabia that the optimal diet in Ramadan consists of 4 steps:

  • Run or walk for 45 minutes, shortly before breakfast.

  • Breakfast with a small, low-calorie meal.

  • Eat a second meal hours after the first meal, which contains complex carbohydrates.

  • Do weight lifting exercises in the evening.

But before starting any health regimen during Ramadan, every person must follow a number of steps, which are:

  • Consult a doctor before engaging in any physical activity if you suffer from health problems or chronic diseases.

  • Start exercise slowly and increase exercise gradually.

  • Eat a good breakfast that contains vegetables and complex carbohydrates.

  • Eat a suhoor meal rich in oats and protein, as it helps stimulate the muscles.

  • Drink as much water as possible between breakfast and suhoor.

The expert advised that exercise should be at an energy capacity of 60 or 70 percent of normal days, in order to avoid fatigue, especially with the decrease in the percentage of water in the body and oxygen in the blood.
