Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill was fined Rs 12 lakh on Wednesday for the team's slow over-rate during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) here. A fine of Rs.

An IPL statement said, "Gill was fined Rs 12 lakh as this was his team's first offense of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate.

The Gill-led team suffered its first defeat in the current season of the tournament when defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated them by 63 runs here on Tuesday.

Under the leadership of Gill, who is leading an IPL franchise for the first time, the Titans won their first match against Mumbai Indians (MI) by six runs. 

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) set a challenging target thanks to a half-century by Shivam Dube (51 runs) after a blazing start by Rachin Ravindra (46 runs) and a good performance by the bowlers to win the one-off T20 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) here on Tuesday. Defeated Gujarat Titans by 63 runs in the match.

After being invited to bat, CSK made a challenging score of 206 runs for six wickets.

Rachin made full use of the powerplay and scored 46 runs in 20 balls with six fours and three sixes.

He and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (46) made a great start by making a partnership of 62 runs in 32 balls for the first wicket.

Then Dubey helped Gujarat Titans batsmen score a big score by scoring 51 runs in 23 balls (two fours, five sixes).

Gujarat Titans did not have a good start as they lost two wickets in the powerplay.

After this, the team could not recover from these shocks and could only score 143 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs.

Sai Sudarshan was the top scorer with 37 runs.
